• Several of the old buildings in the ethnographic museum have shops selling tradition crafts

• The Riga Card gives free rides on trams, buses and trains
• A good meeting place is the rectangular-shaped Laima clock on the eastern edge of the old city
• Drinking Riga tap water should probably be avoided. It's not the worst, but bottled water's better

• Dumplings and pancakes are very popular dish in Latvia.
